PREFACE
The Engineer Academy, also known as the Command Academy, is a required step for Senior Technicians to take the big step into becoming a Facilities Engineer. Transitioning into an Engineer means taking on new command responsibilities, including training others, enforcing expectations, and supporting the department when it matters most.
This academy prepares candidates for those responsibilities, providing the structure and knowledge needed to succeed in a command role.

In order to be join the Engineer Academy, Senior Technicians must first complete all of the other promotion requirements listed within the Department Information section. These include:
Log 30 hours of total on-site activity;
Been in the department for at least 1 month;
Have no moderate or severe punishments on record;
After this, Senior Technicians must complete and successfully pass the Engineer Academy applications released by ETS High Command when deemed necessary, typically due to to vacant spaces or need for additional command.
ACADEMY STRUCTURE
The Engineer Academy is split into 5 sections that focus on varying responsibilities, duties, and knowledge that will help repapre candidates for department command. Each batch of Engineer candidates will be split up into small groups with a Group Leader, a Staff Engineer, which they will work closely with throughout the academy sections. This Group Leader will be responsible for hosting section sessions, answering questions, and overall serving as a mentor for the candidates.
SECTION I: General Knowledge
Candidates are introduced to the rules, responsibilities, and expectations of command. Through text-based lessons and written exams, they learn the foundations of what Command can and cannot do, the exact duties of Facility Engineers, and proper conduct on-site. A mentor is assigned at this stage to provide one-on-one support and guide candidates through the material.
SECTION II: Basic Duties
This section moves into classroom-style learning, where candidates are taught the practical responsibilities of a Facility Engineer. They are shown how to supervise technicians, grade inspections, and maintain department records. Lessons are presented through streams, guides, and presentations, with practice exercises such as grading sample inspections under supervision.
SECTION III: Active Duties
Candidates begin practicing event leadership in controlled settings. Working in small groups, they learn how to host orientations, dam trainings, and site tours. Each candidate takes turns describing or leading mock versions of these events, gaining confidence and experience before stepping into real responsibilities.
SECTION IV: Final Examinations
The academy concludes with a comprehensive exam. Candidates review with their mentors before completing written exams on earlier lessons, practical tests on basic duties, and one-on-one mock events to demonstrate their hosting ability.
SECTION V: Probationary Period
Upon completing all academy sections, candidates enter a probationary period. During this time, they are expected to operate independently by hosting events, grading inspections, and assisting subordinates on-site. Progress is reviewed by High Command and the candidate’s Group Leader, who provide feedback and make the final determination on promotion.
GRADUATION
After successfully completing probation, candidates graduate from the academy in a department-wide ceremony. The event serves as both recognition of their accomplishments and a celebration of their transition into junior command!
