PREFACE
While not a frontline containment unit, the Engineering & Technical Services plays a vital support role in anomalous operations across the site. This section outlines the department’s responsibilities when their work intersects with anomaly-related procedures, ensuring continued coordination and stability during high-risk events.
CONTAINMENT SPECIALIZATION CERTIFICATE
To participate in any anomaly-related operations, ETS personnel must first complete the Containment Specialization Certification. This certification ensures all participants understand the procedures, risks, and responsibilities tied to the duties. Before enrolling, personnel must meet the following criteria:
Hold the rank of Advanced Technician or above
Be in good standing with no moderate or severe punishments
May not be an active member of the Anomaly Actors (AA) department due to restrictions
In order to receive the certification, you must complete the 3 following requirements:
1. Containment Specialization Training
Attend a formal training session hosted by a certified Facilities Engineer or higher. This session will cover the purpose of the certification, SCP-related safety protocols, transport procedures, breaker operations, interdepartmental collaboration, and general expectations.
2. Final Examination
Once the above requirements are met, you may take the final certification exam. By successfully receiving a score of 80% of greater, you are officially granted the certification and may conduct the duties independently.
DUTIES
This section outlines the specific responsibilities and tasks certified personnel may perform in support of anomalous operations. These duties are reserved for those who have earned the Containment Specialization Certification and are expected to be carried out with care, professionalism, and coordination.
While carrying boxes, ETS are subject to the following regulations:
ETS may be asked to stop carrying a box by any enforcement body, ETS command, or SD command.
ETS carrying a box must state where it was placed in the relevant radio. If the box is lost to Class-Ds or similar, ETS must call it out.
ETS need an Eta-9/MP escort to transport boxes down into LCZ.
MCZ and HCZ require Eta-9 escorts.
After completing a box transport, ETS personnel must immediately leave the Cleanrooms or Anomaly Containment Hub.
ETS personnel may stay and spectate the test if authorized by the host and escorts.
Overview
ETS Command will first present a prompt to certified personnel, presented as "Attempt to enter SCP-XXX's Containment Chamber." From here, ETS CSC members will have to create a plan on how to reach and enter the chamber while avoiding detection. Participants will have to create a list of equipment necessary for the completion of the plan, and later send the proposal to ETS High Command for approval.
Once approved, an Eta-9 Sergeant+ will have to authorize the assessment. Upon authorization, members of the task force will be alerted, and a timeframe for the attack will be given.
Between the time periods specified in the message, ETS CSC members will have to attempt to execute their plan and enter the containment chamber, avoiding detection by Eta-9. ETS CSC members will have to note down any security concerns during the assessment, which shall end if the ETS members reach the containment chamber, or if all of them are spotted.
After the assessment ends, the following statement shall be written in the Staff radio channel:
A Threat Assessment conducted by ETS Containment Specialist Certified personnel is complete. A report summarising the assessment results and suggestions will be published shortly.
After the assessment ends, ETS CSC personnel must complete a Threat Assessment Report using the official format.
Rules
Neither team may get killed via guns, cars or any other lethal weaponry.
ETS personnel may use equipment as distractions, but never with intent to kill.
Eta-9 personnel may use beanbag shotguns to stop CSC personnel if they are spotted and run away.
ETS CSC personnel may enter with other normal technicians completing valid duties (pipe repairs, inspections..)
ETS CSC personnel may use disguises or different clothing, following limitations set by CoE III.1.2.
ETS CSC personnel may never go further than a containment's chamber VA entrance.
Nowhere past the MCZ double doors or LCZ airlock controls.
ETS CSC personnel must not breach any SCPs.
REGULATIONS
This section defines the restrictions, limitations, and behavioral expectations placed on certified personnel. All certified members are required to follow these rules without exception, as violations may result in revocation of certification and/or department punishment.
General:
Being certified does not grant authority over anomalous objects, only permission to support when appropriate.
Certification does not make ETS a recontainment unit nor permit involvement in SCP recontainments outside of 079 breakers.
Certification may be revoked at any time by ETS command.
Access to containment zones requires prior authorization and an escort. Personnel may never enter chambers alone.
Certified ETS may only interact with containment systems (e.g. doors, lockdowns, etc.) when authorized and duties specifically require it
When operating in restricted zones (e.g. ACH), ETS personnel must comply fully with all orders given by the relevant personnel
All anomaly-related duties must be coordinated with the proper departments
Certification may not be abused to bypass restrictions, gain advantage, or enter chambers without purpose. Never act outside defined duties.
If a task becomes unsafe (e.g. during an inspection), ETS must immediately withdraw
If a regulation isn’t specifically stated, certified users must clarify with ETS Command or any pertinent authority on site (i.e ETA-9) before performing the action
Interviews:
SCP interviews require ETA-9 approval and escort
ETA-9 must screen and approve all questions in advance, and may request changes or removal of any questions to ensure safety
If conducting a containment inspection with no interview, any MTF may escort
Communication with anomalies must remain brief, non-hostile, and professional
Under no circumstances may ETS attempt to provoke, test, or manipulate an SCP during interaction
ETS may only interview SCPs in relation to chamber safety, maintenance, or quality-of-life conditions, not for testing or research purposes
Eta-9 holds the right to terminate the interview at any time if deemed necessary.
079 Breakers:
Normal / 079 Offline → ETS may operate freely
Normal / 079 Online → Only with ETA-9 coordination
Possible Breach / Breach → Only if ETA-9 requests and ETS is in direct comms (VC)
Box Transportation:
ETS may only transport SCP boxes if MP is unavailable, not actively responding, or directly requests
MP may request proof of certification (e.g. screenshot of ETS certification role)
For transport into ACH (cross-testing), ETS must either be directly escorted by or have explicit permission to enter without an escort
